According to official results released by INEC, Obi won in 13 local government areas out of 21 in the state. He also attained the 25 percent required in two-thirds of the LGA.
Dr. Chris Ngige (AC) came second winning in four local government areas while Charles Soludo (PDP) came third with three LGAs.
Dr. Andy Uba (LP) and Prince Nicholas ukachukwu (HDP) won in only one local government area respectively.
In a response to the elections, Gov. Peter Obi said it is for the interest of the states' future and encouraged all to come together and build the state.
