An NGO, Full Interest in Nigeria (FIND), has announced the result of its opinion poll over the February 6 governorship election in Anambra, saying it favoured Dr Chris Ngige.
Ngige, a former governor of the state, is Action Congress, AC's candidate for the election.
An earlier opinion poll reportedly conducted by Holler Africa favoured PDP's candidate and the immediate past Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.
Holler Africa's survey was, however, tainted by controversy, with some Nigerians claiming it was politically motivated.
In a statement made available yesterday in Lagos, FIND, a non political organisation, claimed that its findings were based on interactions with registered voters.
The statement, signed by its Consultant-in-Chief, Mr Edwin Ogbuefi, said the survey was carried out on December 24 in more than 200 of the 326 wards in the state.
It, however, said that in spite of the findings, money could play a role in determining who would eventually win the governorship poll owing to hunger and insecurity.
It claimed that Ngige led in the opinion poll with 24 per cent while the incumbent Governor Peter Obi of the APGA followed with 22 per cent.
Soludo and Chief Okey Nwosu of ADC polled 20 per cent each while Dr Andy Uba (Labour Party) had eight per cent, according to FIND.
The NGO claimed that Mrs Uche Ekwunife of the PPA scored five per cent while other candidate shared one per cent.
"However, with the late entry of some big weights and heavy spenders, there is a likelihood that the sampling will change drastically," FIND said.
Ngige is the man and the polls prove it! Please win, so u can go on to improve Anambra!! We dey wait u o!!!LIVE for today!!
